SAD! BOY OF SCHOOL AGE CRUSHED TO DEATH BY A FALLEN WOODEN POLE.
12-year-old boy died in a freak death while playing with friends in a small scotish village, Galloway.
It was reported he was crushed by a wooden pole of a telephone pole size.
The freak accident occurred in the town of Kelloholm.
He was seriously injured by the large telephone style pole and later died at the scene of the accident.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 4.40pm on Sunday, police were made aware that a child had been injured after becoming trapped by a large wooden pole similar to a telephone pole in Glenaylmer Road, Kelloholm, Sanquhar.
“Despite the efforts of paramedics and emergency services, the 12-year-old boy kicked the bucket at the scene.
The area has been cordoned off and our enquiries are ongoing.”
The child's parents had been informed of the tragedy.
