FEMALE TEACHER FACES JAIL FOR HAVING SEX WITH 15-YR-OLD BOY STUDENT.
A MARRIED history teacher pleaded guilty to having sex with a 15-year-old student she bedded during a school summer holiday fling.
Ashley Weber,
31, was said to have seduced the boy for four months with raunchy texts before romping at her parentsā home.
Weber was arrested after a seven-week police probe triggered by a āsuspicious situation reportā to school officials in Henrico, Virginia.
Each count carries a 12-month prison sentence, but the case judge suspended the sentence on one of the counts. She is expected to serve just six months.
Her pleas were part of a deal with prosecutors after she was originally charged with two counts of having intercourse with a child and one of using a communication device to propose sex.
Prosecutor Stacey Davenport said āa large volumeā of communications between Weber and the boy.
Weber, who taught at Freeman High School, declined to speak when Judge Margaret Deglau asked her if she wanted to address the court.
āThis was a victimisation,ā said the judge. āYou are a person who could have made a great change in his life, positive change.ā
She banned Weber from having contact with the lad whom she first met in 2015.
Weber has been employed with the Henrico County Public Schools system since 2009, said its spokesman Andy Jenks.
"Ms Weber is not a year-round employee, and we have few details about the allegations other than what has been publicly reported," he revealed.
Jenks said it would be "inappropriate" to comment further on Weber's charges and did not reveal whether she will be allowed return to the school.
